Atheists, ever go to church out of courtesy for someone else?
I was home at thanksgiving with my son who is 16 months old. It was my first trip home with him (from Alberta to Newfoundland). My parents are SUPER involved in their church so of course we had to go so all their friends could see “the grandson”.
I thought, no trouble, harmless…
Fellow atheists, have you ever gone to church with someone to make them happy?! Please tell me how it went for you.
On a light note to brighten your night: I’m a Buddhist and I had my prayer beads in my purse from traveling. To get my son to sit happily through church he was holding and chewing on my beads… in an Anglican church. I brought him to the front for the children’s talk and he handed them to the Bishop! Well, after running around the altar me chasing him.
Let’s me know how it went for you! Did you bother with the prayers or hymns?
3 times, each to a Catholic church and each time, somebody died. Not from my action, but in super-freaky ways WAY to strange to be coincidental. I try to avoid Catholic churches now.
