what are some different forms of meditation?
There are many different types, I will name some here for you
Samadhi, or calm abiding, usually done while in the seven point posture, concentrating on breathing and following the breath in and out.
Usually the first meditation anyone learns.
Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion.
There are others as well but these two are the main basis for any meditation.
There is walking meditation, standing meditation and many other types, but these are the most common,
