Kneeling Seat
Is a “Kneeling Chair” truly good for your back or just a fraud?
I bought a “kneeling chair” because I heard they were good for your back. With all the hours I sit at the computer – I thought what the heck! A kneeling chair is the kind where your weight is supported by your seat AND your knees. The chair has no backrest.
BUT, after using it for a month, I’ve noticed some twinges of lower back pain that I have never felt before! My back actually “feels” weaker. Are these chairs a fraud?
They are wonderful. I used to have one and I miss it.
What you are probably feeling is how weak your stomach and back muscles really are. They work together so if one set is weak, so is the other.
My personal trainer is also a yoga teacher and she’s taught me about the damages done to our bodies by sitting in regular chairs–bad posture and a weak core, to begin with.
