Local Yoga Classes
Yoga or pilates? What’s the difference, and is there anything else similar to these?
I’m a 20 yr. old female looking for some way to be healthier and get fit, both in mind and body. I heard yoga and pilates are good for toning up your body, and not have it be *too* intense of a workout.
I’m not looking to lose weight, as I am not overweight- but my tummy and thighs could use some toning.
So, what’s the difference between yoga and pilates, and which would be right for me?
I’m thinking pilates, because it is more active, and I’d like to be more active in whatever workout I choose to do so I can tone up a little.
And, are there other things similar to yoga/pilates (besides martial arts, ick) that I could try? And where would be a good place to take the classes- should I look for a class through the local gym, or spa or what?
thanks
I do a form of power yoga called the YRG Workout. It is a mix between pilates and yoga. It has strengthened my core and toned my body. It has also increased my flexility. I do the online version at home but I know some health clubs like Equinox have a YRG class. Good Luck!
