Meditation, yoga, soorya namaskaram, mooligei maruthuvam (pls share with me if u know any),?
which home remedy is the most effective to cure IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)? i’ve been suffering from this syndrome for many years now and it’s reached a level where it’s affecting my social life. i’ve seeked medical specialists’ help but to no avail. sometimes it’s so depressing that at times the thought of taking my own life do cross my mind!
Sorry to hear about your health problem, Nearly 20% of world population is going through this issue. There is no single cause for IBS but there are three factors that certainly contribute to increased gut sensitivity namely food allergy / sensitivity , inflammation which may be related to this, and anxiety/stress .
If this symptom started happening after your pregnancy and delivery, definitely its curable by Chiropractic treatment (where they align your spine!).
I agree with Thiru Jayaraman and Ranjith’s answer, but that is not immediate remedy for this. But definitely help you in long term.
First thing try changing your diet! Reduce the amount of sugar intake from your diet. Normal bacterial flora will ferment sugars that are not completely digested and absorbed. This results in the production of enormous amounts of gas. Carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and methane gases as well as lactic and acetic acids are formed. This distends the abdomen and causes flatulence.
If this is constipation related, you definitely need to change your diet! More natural fibers (Vaazhai thandu, Murungai keerai etc). You definitely know more vegetables than I do. Break down your diet, instead of having 3 course meal a day, break them into 5-6 (less quantity please). Change your dinner time to 6:00 p.m. and restrict your portion to 1/4 stomach! If you still feel hungry, substitute with little fruit. Malai vazha pazham is said to be good.
If this is diarrhea related, Live cultures from curd (fermented for 24 hours) will definitely help. But consume in low quantity first and skip consuming milk during that period of time. Because lactose from milk can act like laxative inducing more. Google Aloeride (anti inflammatory) and read more about this.
Drink more water, 1.5 to 2.0 lts a day! If you don’t drink enough, your body will get its water via resorption in the large intestine. If you want coffee, drink an occasional small cup of real espresso coffee, the high pressure of steam causes the ground coffee to release its flavour in concentrated form without releasing too much caffeine at the same time. Organic green tea (Clipper) can and possibly should form part of this 1.5 – 2.0 L (for average activity adults, if you’re physically active you need more) and because of its very high anti-oxidant potential, it is an excellent defence against any onslaught of free radicals
Check your local super market or pharmacy for Bifidus Acidophilus supplement. Don’t panic by the name, they are names of live cultures.
If it is stress related, Pranayam accompanied with Meditation is your only option. Don’t ever do this on your own from reading books or watching movies. This is like a double sided sword, seek a True master/Guru help.
