Music Afficiando’s – need direction from you!?
Hi there –
My boyfriend is a 23 year old golfer who likes to ONLY talk about golf and work. He has recently told me he has always wanted to be a music guru, but doesn’t know how to get started. I think he’s just telling me this because I’M a music guru, and he wants us to have something in common…
I learned what I know about music from listening to it from a very young age – all the time! He always jokes that I know every song on the radio, for every radio station. Is there some kind of website or list of “must-know music” that I can direct him to? He knows nothing about…anything. I think the only band he’s heard of is the Dave Matthews Band… haha.
I suggested he listen to NPR’s “All Songs Considered” for new music ideas, but as far as old music goes… I don’t know what to tell him. Any suggestions on how to get started catching up an centuries of great music??
My modest list suggestion:
