Reiki
Is it ok to use/practice reiki if you are a Christian? Answers from Christians please?
I am a Christian and I am thinking of doing a Reiki course, but I am not sure whether Reiki is compatible with the Christian belief. Is it ok to have reiki done to you, or for you to give reiki if you are a Christian?
I have only recently heard of reiki. The Bible forbids learning and practicing this. It seems to be no more or less than blatant witchcraft. The word of God says
“Thus saith the LORD,LEARN NOT THE WAY OF THE HEATHEN, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain…” (1)
When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, THOU SHALT NOT LEARN TO DO AFTER THE ABOMINATIONS OF THOSE NATIONS. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.” (2)
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.(3)
Reiki is a practice based on Budhist teachings according to this qoute from the wiki page. Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui (臼井甕男) in 1922 whilst performing Isyu Guo, a twenty-one day Buddhist training course held on Mount Kurama.
I only took 15 minutes to examine this question and it is screaming Abomination at the top of it’s lungs. I hope this helps.
