Enlightenment dangerous?

Of course there is no actually knowing what enlightenment is unless one is enlightened.
But this video makes enough sense to me.

It speaks about scientists calling it the shutting down of the temporal lobes that control the senses.
That sounds dangerous…Doesn’t it?
I think that not being able to feel anymore would remove all pain, lol.

Don’t most Buddhists think meditation is essential to ones enlightenment?
I think meditation would be the best route to shutting down the temporal lobes.
So if we meditate for long enough we will lose all our senses and have to choose whether or not we are happy rather than reacting to the environment.

Personally I prefer to think of enlightenment this way:
If emotion is the roller coaster of life, and each person ride their own emotion coaster. Then enlightenment is not the removal of the person from this roller coaster, but instead it is more as if the person riding their emotion coaster were to be given the ability to determine the direction their roller coaster went in. This isn’t so much about controlling your own emotions entirely, as being able to decide a direction for them to go, allowing yourself to collide your emotions against other peoples emotions. Also you would see the world differently, the same way the person in the backseat of a car who has no knowledge of his destination views the world differently from the driver of the car, who has a destination in mind and also knows how long it would take to get there. Among other things, the driver of the car also has to be aware of other cars, the speed limit, how tired he is, gas.

Common sense tells us that to lose weight, we must eat less and exercise more. But somehow we get stalled. We start on a weight-loss program with good intentions but cannot stay on track. Neither the countless fad diets, nor the annual spending of $50 billion on weight loss helps us feel better or lose weight. Too many of us are in a cycle of shame and guilt. We spend countless hours worrying a…
